Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Christmas is coming and it's time to start making the cards.

We are starting off with a shaker card that would be a great card to make 

to use up patterned paper left overs.

Sara has made this card using the new Sue Wilson sentiment die called

'Merry little Christmas' and die cut it in gold. It is then cut out again in a larger piece of white card so that the gold words could be placed inside the white die cut.

Sara used spellbinders circle nesting dies to create the shaker part and glittered around the circle,

we all love a bit of glitter at Christmas :)

Three different pieces of coordinating patterned papers are used for the backing.
From the Snowflake Edger die Sara has used the star border to cut out tiny stars for the shaker contents.

I love the colours of this pretty card by Sara using Sue Wilson dies.

Sara has created a aperture in the card using the Eternal Rings die by Sue Wilson.

Coloured card is used behind the aperture and pearls added to the flower centres to create

a truly pretty panel.

Flowers have been die cut and build up using the Sue Wilson Chrysanthemum die and the leaves are die cut from the Spring Foliage set.

Micro Beads are used to make the centre of the flowers and give a lovely effect.

The sentiment is from a Woodware clear stamp set called Jane's Script and is a lovely sentiment set with words perfect for many occasions and a lovely size to stamp onto cards.

Sara's Butterfly Magic

Today we have a very pretty card with lacey butterflies and a glittery background.

For this card Sara has removed a panel from the right side of the card and replaced with acetate.  Then on the right hand inside of the card, added a strip of glittery card so that it shows through acetate when the card is revealed out of the envelope.

A pretty border punch and ribbon add a elegant touch to the left side of the card.

This card from Sara is a very pretty card and also as a touch of sparkle to it.  We all love a bit of sparkle :)

Sara has used the Meridian corner die to die cut two corners of a piece of lilac card, then used the butterflies outline die in the centre.

On some white card she has then cut a full set of the butterflies dies and replaced the pieces back in the lilac card base.

Using adhesive film and glitter a sparkling background has been created and then placed behind the lilac card.

Ribbon and pearls add a finishing touch to card.

With Love

"Pretty in Pink" is the card for today.

Sara has made this beautiful card using just pink and white cardstock and dies.

The base is a 8x8 card and a pink slightly smaller piece of card is used for the first layer.

Sara has then die cut the heart design (from standard heart nestie) out of a slightly smaller piece of white card.

Using the Tim holtz mixed media die set she has die cut the fancy corner out of white card and used this behind the heart with some pink backing.  Doesn't it look really effective?

Shows how versatile the mixed media dies sets are.  And how you can mix and match outline dies with fancy detailed details.  Loving it :)

Then to finish off the card, Sara has used the Sue Wilson Spring Foliage die set from the Finishing Touches range and also some lace, glitter and cute ribbon.   Notice how there are 3 shades of the pink flowers and each one has a pearl center - looks so elegant.

A Good Luck card for today made by Sara Rosamond.

 

This is a really lovely and quick card to make and a great way to use the Sue Wilson

Easter Basket die set in a very unusal way. Similar to our previous post where Sara has used the basket handle for the Hot Air Balloon, she's been thinking more outside the box basket and come up with this gem - using the basket handle upside down for a horseshoe.

Thin, 3mm, ribbon is then threaded through and a brad used to make it look like it is hanging on the card.

A die cut of a little black cat is featured in corner and comes from the Sue Wilson kinetics 3D window box die set to finish off card.  

Beautifully simplistic for any Good Luck occasion you need to create a card for.

Up Up and Away

The card we have today is a fun card that would be great for men's cards if you were a little uncertain as to what to make, or prehaps someone taking on a new venture.

Created by Sara, she has used the Sue Wilson Easter Basket set to make the basket for the Hot Air Balloon, and just used the patterned basket part of the die cut. 

To create the balloon itself, Sara has used the basket handle from the same die set and edged the die cut shapes with string/twine.

The background clouds are made using the cloud stencil kit and tumbled glass distress ink.

A sentiment has been created by stamping out the letters from the Hampton art alphabet set and using thread to create a kite tail look.

Easter Wishes

Although Easter as been and gone for this year, I wanted to share with you couple of beautiful projects that Sara had created.  Firstly this lovely Easter card with a Sue Wilson die called Kinetics Easter Basket.

The clouds and grass are die cut from Doo Hickey dies and Sara has used tumbled glass distress ink to edge clouds as well as adding a little glitter too.

This Kinetics Easter Basket die also comes with a rabbit, bow and patterned eggs too.

I love this 3D version of the basket where Sara has turned it into an Easter table favour and added chocolate Easter eggs.  You could easily used this die to make a basket and fill with flowers for a card for anytime of the year or other gifts like a couple of nail polishes as a thank you to a friend, or sugar almonds as the classic wedding table favour. 
Sara has threaded ribbon through the handle, the design will take 3mm ribbon and not alot of it so get chance to sort through your ribbon stash and use up some left overs.

I do like the chocolate idea personally 'Yum Yum'

Passing of Time

We have another beautiful card made by Sara today using dies cuts and gilding wax.

For the background Sara as used medical gauze that she coloured with distress ink refills and pulled threads of it to give a frayed look.

Tim Holtz gear head dies are used to die cut cogs from a large piece of black card that is cut slightly smaller than card base.

The cogs have had gilding wax put on them and then put back in black card.

Text paper was used behind black card so that it shows through cogs.

Sara has then die cut the large corner group of cogs and some leaves and flowers out of black card.

The flowers are made from the dies cuts and all pieces have had gilding wax used on them.

Sara (Inky Fingers) has made this fabulous card by using the Sue Wilson arched window/door die and turning it into a juke box.  Talk about thinking outside the box!

It really shows that we can use dies in others ways if we look carefully, I would never have thought of using it as a juke box but it works brilliantly.

The records have been made using various circle dies and a personalized record sleeve finishes it perfectly.

The wavy triple border gems looks great teamed with the notes die cut from a Marianne Designs die called musical notes.

Today with have another fabulous creation by Sara using the Sue Wilson Kinetics range of dies. 

Sara has created a double window shop scene by making a deep card and adding a recess behind the window.

In the recess there is little borders to look like shelves and then die cut flowers are put on shelves.

On the front of the card Sara used two window dies cuts and also added window boxes.

The flowers are die cut twice to give depth and topiary trees used along the bottom.

A stamp set called 'Meet me at the cafe' is used to create the tops of the windows and stamped onto patterned papers.  The word Florist has been created using a sizzix alphabet set from way back called 'wingo zingo'.

Have you spotted the cat sitting in the window among the flowers?

This pretty card is made using Sue Wilson dies (listed at bottom).

The flowers in the window box have been die cut twice to give depth and little pearls used for the centres.

The lovely colours on this card make it very summery and fresh looking.
Love the verse stamp by Stampendous (CRD075) - great for inside the card or part of the front design.

A big bow and a charm finish it all off.

Window Box

Today we have another beautiful card by Sara using Sue Wilson dies.

Sara has created a lovely window box scene and even used acetate in the windows to give the look of glass.

Striped paper has been used to create a blind in the window and a punched border gives the blind a decorative finish.

The flowers have been decoupaged and pearls used for the centres.

The base of the card is a 8x8 card blank and adhesive pearl border is used around edge.

Another layer is added to card using the Martha Stewart punch around the page eyelet punch, then behind the window a piece of white card as been embossed with a brick wall folder.

The window is attached using foam pads.

New Home

Hello, I am back today with a New Home card made by Sara.

Sara has been playing with the new Sue Wilson dies and come up with some fabulous cards.

The Sue Wilson Arched window/door die is the centre of this card and by using black

brads Sara has added door knobs for extra detail.

The topiary trees have been cut out several times and the green part folded in half and several stuck together to create a 3d look.

The plants, cat and butterflies all come from the Sue Wilson set called 3D window box and accessories, I love the little cat waiting to go inside.

Today we have a card made using the Heartfelt creation stamp called

'Birds and bloom' 

I have stamped the image on watercolour card in brown ink and then embossed

with clear embossing powder.

Then using the Tim Holtz blending tool and pads I have used different distress ink pads

to create a coloured background.

I stayed away from the leaves because I wanted to paint them.

When I was happy with colour I spritz a little water on the image to add another effect.

I stamped the bird collage again and this time cut out a few details

so that I could decoupage them.

I coloured these pieces with distress markers and used silcone glue to add them.

The frame is made using the Sue Wilson shadow box die

and gives a lovely stitched effect when die cut.

Today I have another card using the Hero Arts set

'Orchid in a Pot' 

This time only using the flowers and cutting them out.

The flowers have been stamped in three different shades of pink and a little

bit of Liquid Pearl used in the centre.

The flowers are very easy to stamp and create a lovely effect.

A frame as been created around the image and a lattice background made by using

a Sue Wilson die set called 'Stitched Lattice Frames'

This set is so useful and as a lovely stitched effect on it.

 

Labels twenty eight by spellbinders is used for the sentiment.

And the sentiment itself is from a set called Black Eyed Susan by JustRite.

Pearls and ribbon are added for a extra little touch.
